HoundHouse is an Australian company that manufactures unique dog kennels especially for the Australian climate. The kennels are lightweight, sturdy, warm in winter and cool in summer. The cotton canvas material used for the kennel is similar to that used for soft top cars. Water will bead off the fabric. Not only is the material waterproof, but its weave pattern opens in dry and hot weather to allow ventilation and in cooler months contracts, creating a comfortable barrier to the elements. The weave pattern also prohibits the hatching of flea eggs.
Because the kennel is supported above the ground, the PVC mesh floor will flex as the dog lies in the kennel. This means that dogs will be adequately supported as they relax, or sleep, but will be relieved of pressure on their joints. The floor is sturdy and will not sag over time. A cushioned floor pad is included.
The kennel can be collapsed easily into a flat package for camping and pet friendly holidays and can be re erected in minutes. A storage / travel bag is included.

Kennel Size Guide
The HoundHouse is available in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
Please measure your dog from its nose to the base of its tail to determine which size kennel will be most suitable
Small: for dogs measuring approx. 54cms to 61cms
Medium: for dogs measuring approx. 62cms to 86cms
Large: for dogs measuring approx. 87cms to 109cms
Extra Large: for dogs over 110cms
The dimensions of the kennels are:
Small: L54cms x W46cms x H50cms
Medium: L63cms x W57cms x 63cms
Large: L85cms x W72cms x H75cms
Extra Large: L103cms x W82cms x H91cms
The cotton canvas material expands during hot weather allowing any breeze to flow through and cool the kennel. The kennel sits off the ground, further helping air circulation. In hot weather, the kennel should be placed in a shaded area. Extreme heat can be uncomfortable. During these days, the kennel can be sprayed with a hose to decrease the inside temperature by up to 15%. Placing a water soaked hessian sack over the top of the kennel will help to decrease the temperature for up to two hours through evaporation. (Hessian sacks are often available free of charge from greengrocers.)
The kennel’s canvas fiber will shrink during cold weather trapping the warm air from your dog inside the kennel. During cold, windy weather, the clear plastic flaps which come with the kennel can be placed at the door opening to stop the wind.
