Description

Dermcare-Vet is an Australian owned and operated company founded in 1981 by Professor Kenneth Mason, the first veterinarian in Australia to be registered as a specialist Veterinary Dermatologist. Dermcare specialises in providing a limited range of very high quality products that have been developed to deal with specific veterinary dermatological issues.

Malaseb is registered to treat Seborrhoeic Dermatitis, skin infections involving bacteria, or yeast and Dermatophytosis,  the scientific name for ringworm (a condition which is not due to worms but a fungal infection).  It is normal for animals to have small numbers of resident bacteria and yeasts on the surface of their skin. However, these bacteria and yeasts can grow and cause disease if there is a disruption to the skin’s natural balance.  Causes of this can be because of allergy, parasites, hormonal problems, or skin problems as a result of deep skin folds causing sweaty crevices.  Bathing using Malaseb will kill micro-organisms, helping to keep the numbers of yeasts and bacteria at manageable levels, remove excess scale and oils, commonly produced when the skin is infected and removes allergens such as pollens that have been caught on the skin or fur.  The easy to use foam contains no colourings or perfumes.  The active ingredients are miconazole nitrate and chlorhexidine gluconate.

Malaseb contains a coat conditioner to restore shine and ensure a soft, healthy coat.
