Description

Pawsome Organics DErt Control is a natural flea and tick prevention trusted by veterinarians and animal naturopaths. It is an effective non-chemical alternative that is 100% safe for pets, but is deadly to ticks, fleas, and other insect parasites.

DErt is Diatomaceous Earth which is fossilised microscopic algae that have been ground into a fine powder. It is sourced from a freshwater mine in Queensland and is certified organic.

The powder should be brushed into your pet’s coat and sprinkled on to its surroundings such as bedding, blankets and kennel. The porous nature of DErt removes and absorbs the natural waxes and oils from the insect’s exoskeleton causing the insect to quickly dry out and die.

Being a natural treatment, patience with the process is necessary. Your dog’s environment should be dusted with DErt Control twice each week, leaving it for about 1 to 3 days before vacuuming. This process should be repeated for 2 to 3 weeks. It is necessary for the flea, or other insect parasite to come into contact with the DErt. Then the insect will take about 48 hours to dehydrate. Wherever fleas land they can breed, so it’s important to remember that they can be anywhere. DErt must remain in contact with the parasites to continue working effectively. The eradication process may take up to three weeks, but it’s efficient, all natural, and pet friendly.

It is important that your pet’s skin remains moisturised. After about 2 or 3 days you may want to give your dog a bath. It is recommended that you do not bath your dog more than once a month as it will dry out their skin. When bathing your dog it is best to use a soap-free, or moisturising shampoo. After bathing, comb through your dog’s fur with a flea comb to remove dead fleas.
